Their backgrounds were varied e.g. steeplejacks & painters & some were even redirected from another area of National Grid’s business e.g. wiremen from our NSIG unit. They were then successfully trained at our National OHL Training Centre, Eakring, in the necessary skills to be able to form part of an OHL team to carry out predetermined tasks, on the HV National Grid overhead line network, to the necessary safety and quality standards required.
